Deploying SDIRA Capital into Private Real Estate Funds

Self-Directed IRAs (SDIRAs) offer a powerful way to invest in alternative assets like real estate while maintaining the tax advantages of a retirement account. However, navigating the rules and finding the right sponsor is critical.
Understanding SDIRAs
Unlike standard IRAs limited to stocks and bonds, an SDIRA allows for alternative investments. When investing in a private real estate fund, the fund itself becomes the asset held by the IRA.
The Process
1. Open an account with a qualified custodian (e.g., Equity Trust, Directed IRA).
2. Fund the account via rollover or contribution.
3. Direct the custodian to invest in the fund.
